For those of you who have been wondering whether a professionally produced, well-acted, hilarious ad could help a political novice unseat a long-time Senate incumbent, the answer is that we still don’t know.

Despite this valiant effort by first-time candidate Dan Freilich, Sen. Patrick Leahy squeaked by with 89 percent of the vote in the Vermont primary yesterday.  I do think Mr. Freilich should get a lot of credit for trying, for having a sense of humor, and for being willing to ride a cow.  This effort did not get the job done, but maybe this just proves that no man could possibly look good by comparison to Old Spice Guy.
